TRL Fitness is about sunshine and gravity (and the occasional good-natured squirrel). If you’re in the Bentonville area let’s meet up. All exercise is performed outdoors with the most minimal equipment. I focus on static holds, range of motion, and balance. It isn’t about the latest health fad in the tech-bro universe. It’s about commitment and consistency.

We’ve been taught to fear the sun, the very thing that gives life to the planet. I’m not buying it. Beginning at about mid-March every year, I start getting outside in just my shorts, and I’ve had wonderful health outcomes as a result. We used to use words like “sun-kissed” and “bronzed” when describing sun exposure. Let’s take back control of the vernacular.

I workout at Old Tiger track (as featured) — but if other exercise is warranted, we might hike, bike, or play Pickleball. While I do offer personal training, I’d like to think of my services as appealing to the body, mind, and spirit. The goal is to keep you engaged and committed; not to burn you out. I also offer suspiciously delicious nutritional guidance. Please see TRL Food for more.

  • Breathe fresh air and let the sun hit your face as we focus on movement, body alignment, and strength & conditioning.

  • In the 80’s, kids didn’t sit around on their asses. Let’s get them back outside moving their bodies through space, with fun & games and old fashioned hard work.

  • The goal here is to get groups of people together to play all the old favorites, things like Capture the Flag. Exercise doesn’t have to be miserable (it should be fun).

personal training for a lifetime

Now that I’m 46, I don’t want to injure myself exercising. This should be everyone’s goal regardless of your age. Unless you’re getting paid to play a sport, you should not be hurting yourself. If you’re plagued by a chronic, nagging injury we need to take a step back and examine your fundamentals. Training should be about mobility and stability. It should be about preparing your body to sustain whatever load you plan to put it under. What good is it, if you can run a sub-20 minute 5K, but you have a hard time getting out of bed? Exercise fads tend to skew to the extreme, as a way of selling you something “new.” But there’s no substitute for good form. I follow a training regimen designed by Tommy John III, a former physical therapist who gave up his designations because he believes all passive therapies are designed to mask symptoms and prevent the body from healing itself. Let me show you how to heal.
